Music appreciation

LB loves music. Nowadays she'll ask for the TV to be turned off so we can "listen to moosic", so we've bought her some CDs (check out this one by Justine from Play School) and on Sunday we took her to the Opera House for a Babies Proms. There was a little orchestra and an actor telling a story.
LB was a little disturbed by the volume and wouldn't go down the front with the other kids, but that doesn't matter. She snuggled in to her dad for most of the show then showed the most interest when the orchestra members invited the kids to have a closer look at the instruments.
Afterwards, we had a very civilized lunch at the museum cafe. Sandwiches for us and hot chips for LB -- even if it was 11am! A good, if freezing day, was had by all.
These things are pretty popular, though. I tried this week to book another one but everything for the rest of the year on a weekend is booked solid. Maybe next year when she's a bit older?
